Its primary purpose is to allow fast searches in UNIX tar files. For performance reasons, tarimporter searches only for file names inside tar files. Actually, it recognized .tar, .cpio, .pax, .zip archives with different flavours of compression algorithms.
More file formats will be supported in the future release.
